Extensions are add-ons that “extend” the functionality of Chrome itself – they usually appear as menu items, and some of them affect the way that some or all websites are displayed. The difference between Chrome Apps and Extensionsįirst of all, there are two types of programs that can be installed on Chrome, and they get their own separated sections in the Chrome Web Store. Thankfully, apps and extensions on Chrome OS are simple to find, install, and if necessary, remove. This makes them easy to manage, but it also means that things are a little different than you might be used to if you’re coming from a Windows or OS X machine. Click the blue add to Chrome button, then click add in the confirmation.
